Our little man is 6 months old this weekend!

It is actually not easy to get pictures of them together...Avery gets too rough and usually ends up making brother cry...but they both cooperated for a couple shots.

Well, trying to get Avery & Braylin in a picture together just wasn't happening this year. It was hard enough to find time to get them dressed and do any photos at all but we got it done. As you can see, we have two smiley kids with LOTS of energy and not always so cooperative either. They make us smile though :)

So the coolest part of the Indy Christmas at the Zoo was out in the parking lot. 2 beautiful reindeer were on display. They were so neat and a hit with all of us!

Holy mother of lights!!!! There are a TON of lights in every color. WAY COOL!!!

Avery was able to write a letter to Santa....she insisted on telling Santa that she loved her daddy.

Lighted animals are throughout the zoo grounds as well.

Avery kept saying "I want to hold that sea.wike a baby...pwease....I wock him just wike a baby".

Mommy & Daddy took Avery to Indy for a special Avery weekend. We had a great little overnight getaway and did anything & everything that Avery-bug chose to do. She has done really well with adjusting to life with a baby brother but it was nice to be able to spend some one on one time with her again and make it all about her. She thought it was "willy cool" too!

Braylin was able to meet his Uncle Pete for the first time over Thanksgiving. Uncle Pete was a natural with him and little man loved getting to spend time and cuddle with his Auntie Ash and Uncle Pete.

Yes, this is a wild child. For some reason, Avery turns into flippin' wild child every time we get to Grandma's. Apparently she is not used to such a large, wide-open living room because she acts as if it is a gymnasium.

Halloween Fun

Braylin & Avery participated in the Monticello Halloween Parade.

Cutest lil' ladybug and calf in town!

Ginger was our favorite entry at the parade. She is quite the celebrity!

Every little girl needs a black kitten on Halloween...how about a whole barn full!

Avery was able to take part in several Halloween festivities this year. Although between mommy scaring her and the assisted living Haunted Hallway, she was a bit freaked out at times and not digging other scary costumes. Hopefully next year she will be all about it! For now though we are packing away the costumes and calling it quits.

Braylin survived his first Halloween. Though he really did hate his costume he was a trooper with us dragging him all over. Mommy quickly realized that trying to attend all of the Halloween festivities this year with a toddler who wanted held because she was scared and an infant that wanted to be held because his sister was crying that she really needed a second set of hands. Thank goodness for the self-induced candy coma's to cope! Happy Halloween 2011. Til next year :)

Pumpkin Patch Palooza

Daddy's little girl is growing up fast.

"Look at these...they are willy big wight mom?"

Avery had a ball in the straw maze. Mom & Dad were a bit nervous when she dove in and was gone...thought the owners were going to have to dismantle the thing for us to find our kid! But she eventually found her way out and went right back in for more.

Braylin wasn't as into all the happenings at the pumpkin patch...he just wanted to cuddle up with daddy.

Avery had lots of fun in the corn box. We might look into filling her sandbox with corn...though much more expensive it is so much cleaner!

Looking for the perfect pumpkin....

Daddy found his.....

Avery was on such the mission to find the perfect pumpkin she couldn't stay on her feet. She tripped over and over again on the vines. She was falling so hard and often she was losing her pants and the bow in her hair.

Avery's way of picking pumpkins is sitting on them....(look at the concentration level on her face)

Avery enjoyed her first hay ride...although at first she couldn't understand why she was sitting in a pile of straw she ended up thinking it was pretty cool.

Well done....the pumpkins will look perfect at home!

Carribean Cove

Pretty excited about staying at the hotel that has an indoor pool.

Ahhhhh.....how this kid has missed the water.

After bucket dumped....who was having more fun, Avery or Daddy?

Braylin slept through all the yelling & screaming from all the kids at the water park.

And this is generally all you would see of Avery coming down the one slide....she went so fast we couldn't catch her on camera.

Boy was she having fun!

Daddy was smart enough to turn the wheel and stop a lot of the shooting water. Mommy was an easy target for the kids at the top of the pirate ship as they shot with fire hose strength water guns. Avery...well she was just having fun whatever she was doing.

We went to Indy for an overnight getaway courtesy of Community State Bank. It was quite exhausting and stressful for Mommy & Daddy as Avery was one of the smallest at the water park. Thought for sure we'd end up in Riley again as kids 3x her size just kept running her over and knocking her off of things. But we all survived and had a good time so it was well worth the stress and worrying. :)

Braylin is happy just going with the flow but he was happiest that he got to sleep in the big bed with his mommy all night. :)

Daddy helped Avery trick or treat at the zoo. Avery was a bit timid after mommy had a werewolf jump out and scare her. It was pretty funny though.

Avery "tries" to make friends with the willy worms she finds...that is if she isn't too rough with them when picking them up. We have had several casualties.

Avery went over to ride in a combine with Papaw Daily. It was her first combine ride and she loved it!

Little co-pilot surely talked poor Grandpa Daily's ear off. Surely he enjoyed the silence after she was gone!

Avery had a ball playing in the leaves outside mommy's work. She missed out last year since she had a broken arm but she is making up for it this year.

Although not sporting the IU sweatshirts because of the stellar football team, they still look cute and do their Grandpa Darv proud!

We all (including Mamaw & Papaw) hit the pumpkin train this weekend.

Fall is such a gorgeous time of year in the Midwest....these warm temps have definitely let us take advantage of all the outdoor beauty. Riding the rails was a perfect way to do just that and spend time with family!

Mommy took the kiddies to the park after work one day to enjoy some of the beautiful weather.

This slide just about gave mom a heart attack since Avery scaled the steps and was at the top in no time. She is still so little for such a big slide.

This little guy was too cute the way he had to spread his front legs in order to get low enough to the ground to munch on grass.

Dolphin show front and center.

Someone wasn't very happy that she couldn't get in the water to swim with the dolphins. Mommy made the mistake in telling Avery about Aunt Ashley and Mommy swimming with dolphins.

Avery couldn't comprehend why she couldn't hug this guy. Guess it is hard for a little one to understand when she has a room full of stuffed teddy bears that she hugs all the time why she can't hug a live one.

She overcame her fear!!!! She was back to liking the walrus and no longer afraid of the plastic statue!

Since we have season passes to the Indy Zoo and we were right next door with the ALS Walk, we decided to spend a couple hours checking out the animals. The Indy Zoo is great but it was tough to follow all the hands on exhibits at the FW Children's Zoo in the same week.

We are going to find a cure for ALS!!!! The steps are moving in the right directions and the research has been promising. Thank you all for your continued support. It means so much to us each year to participate in this event.

Special Day

Mommy and the kids enjoyed a beautiful fall day at the FW Children's Zoo. Though it was a spontaneous trip we had a great time! We will definitely need to head back as we were short on time and didn't get to see everything.

The sea lions put on quite a show for the spectators.

Wee-man enjoyed watching the seals swim too.

Avery was cracking up watching the seals play with one another in the water.

This little guy was also very entertaining....

He was very interested in Avery too. Avery chose an otter stuffed toy at the end of the day after this little guy teasing and playing with her. They are quite playful creatures.

Peacocks walk around the grounds at will....Avery liked having the different birds coming up to her.

"Alligator Purse"....we did get some weird looks as we were singing the Alligator Purse nursery rhyme.

Avery thought the penguins were cute. She didn't understand why they weren't swimming though. They were all huddled up in the shade in the grass.

Only thing better to this kid than a John Deere is a train.

This wild child was having a ball. She loves playing with other kids...especially on a little train!

While Avery was feeding this cute lil guy and mommy was busy taking pics of him, a goose came up behind Avery and attacked her from behind wanting the treats. She screamed "Nooo Noooo, not bite!!! It bit me! Bad birwd!!!". Good thing it was her and not mommy....mommy does NOT like geese of any kind!

Braylin was happy to be out in the fresh air and liked watching sis laughing & giggling all day.

Avery did much better with the statue's at the FW Zoo than she does at the Indy Zoo.

This guy is real...and he is WAY BIG!!!

Avery loves horses and ponies....hmmmm,wonder where she might get that from???

Meet Sandy and her baby Chester. Sandy brought back so many childhood memories for mommy. She so resembled mommy and Aunt Ashley's palomino pony, Ponch.

If the zoo would have let us leave with one animal....this girl would have been coming home to the Haselby Farm for sure! Avery loved her and had to give her a kiss goodbye.

Another hit,yet again, the goats. Especially when they "talked" to Avery!

Double Trouble....this might be the next addition to H4 Farms. Goats are too much fun!!!

She thought this was pretty funny to be sitting on his lap.

So the only tears shed...can't say I blame her. An elephant skeleton is pretty scary looking!

The wallaby's and kangaroos were so darn cute. Avery really wanted to hug one....

They had a really cool "Kangaroo Walk" that the kangaroos were just out loose and you walked along a path and saw them in their environment. They could come up to you if they like and you had to watch out for them crossing the path. It was pretty cool.

Mommy and Aunt Ashley have a similar picture when they were little in this same kangaroo.

We all went on a log ride through the Australian Outback.

Braylin was very relaxed listening to the sound of the moving water.

Time to go home...the natives are getting very restless!!!! All in all, we had a very good day. We are trying to make the most of the remaining days of mommy's maternity leave and this was a great day doing just that. A perfect day for mommy and her kiddos.

Excitement does not even describe Avery's reaction when she saw her new playhouse.

She could not stop smiling....

"C'mon in and see my house!"

Her spirit is so addicting.

Didn't take long to start moving things into her house to make it nice and comfy!

She even talked mommy and daddy into spending a little time in there with her while is rained outside a bit.

"Now it looks like our big house!"

Daddy did good! Avery had a lot of fun playing in the playhouse at Menards so when Daddy ran across this at an auction he knew he'd make a little girl very happy if he brought it home....he was so right! "Thank you daddy, thank you, thank you. You so sweet!" :) (her exact words).

Visit from Aunt Ashley!

Aunt Ashley came from Charlotte to spend the weekend with the Haselby kids.

Of course Avery is playing with her phone.....this kid and phones-we are in trouble.

Braylin is quite content just chilling with his Aunt Ash

A very deep conversation is taking place.....he is telling her all about his first 7 weeks of life :)

Aunt Ashley ate up all the cuddle time she could get with little man.

The Haselbys took Aunt Ashley to the Francesville Fall Festival for a fish fry. This is the excitement when you live in rural America vs large city life. And in normal Avery fashion...she found a John Deere.

"C'mon Ashee.....let's go. You got your phone?" ;)

Ashley also met the other new addition to our family since her last trip home almost a year ago....her and Ajax hit it off too.

Having fun with the kids while mommy went to work for a couple hours....nothing like putting Aunt Ashley on babysitting duty as soon as she flies in!!!!

Braylin really enjoyed meeting his Aunt Ashley. It is obvious he is going to love his Auntie as much as his sister does. We are very fortunate for the relationship our kids have with their Aunt & Uncle. We all wish they lived closer but cherish the times/visits we do have with them. Thanks for coming to see us Ash!!!

Baby Braylin is such a joy. He is just the sweetest little boy. We can tell already that he is going to wear his heart on his sleeve as he has quite the sensitive side to him. He has a smile that lights up the room and melts your heart at the same time. We are so lucky to have such a sweet, special little boy.

Indy Weekend

Mommy dropped daddy off at the State Fair and then took the kiddos to the zoo for a few hours

The new tiger exhibit was by far our favorite this trip....way cool!!!

And she is back to like the walrus again....just not the plastic walrus at the entrance.

We met back up with Daddy at the piggy show at the St Fair.

Our friend, Linda Kilmer, grabbed the camera to catch mommy changing Braylin on a stack of shavings. She got a good laugh out of that one :)

Then of course Avery wanted Linda to take pictures of her too....

Such a happy little man...Kolton and Avery will surely get into some trouble growing up together...especially if they are neighbors soon :)

Avery made herself at home at the Carriage Lane stalls in the horse barn...the Houser girls are loading her up on cookies :)

Day 2 at the piggy show....Avery seems to be a bit bored in the pig barn at this point.....

Miley seemed to think Avery needed carried around...it was quite entertaining watching Avery's face. She couldn't understand why this girl her size kept picking her up.

Miley and Delaney Houser wanted to take pics of their momma with Avery....they did a pretty good job!

Super happy to ride the "tractor train" (the shuttle) which combines 2 of Avery's favorites....a John Deere tractor and a train. She was thrilled.

Winding down before bed after a super long weekend. Fun was had by all.

Our beatiful Avery..already 26 months old. Where has the time gone? We are soaking up every minute of her as before we know it she will be all grown up. She is such a fun kid and keeps us laughing all the time. We love you sweetie pie :)

Indiana Beach!

We are off to the Beach! Our first family trip to Indiana Beach...oh what fun!

Mommy is so excited to have a riding partner for the tilt-a-whirl since daddy doesn't like rides.

And Avery loved it and had a ball....mommy too. We had to ride it twice and then Avery begged daddy to ride "one more time...pease daddy"...but daddy declined (WIMP!) :)

Though you can only see her peering over the front...she was having a ball and giggling the whole time.

Our little motor head really enjoyed driving the cars.

Anything that goes round and round in a circle is a hit with Avery. Let it go up in the air the slightest and she freaks!

Ring Ring Ring the bell.

Braylin chillin' in the stroller. He did really good despite the heat.

Again, anything that goes up in the air at all (and these little whales simply "jump") scares her to death......

By the end of the ride, she loved it....she just needed mommy to talk her through it. Ignore the fact that mommy looks like an overgrown idiot on this kiddy ride. The things we do for our kids :)

Hello Beautiful!

Busy, busy little girl. She is getting better and better at maneuvering her tractor around the yard.

Playing in the sprinkler is oh so fun! Or as Avery says "play in the rain?"

Practicing walking her piggy. She makes her daddy so proud.

She might be a little thing but she doesn't take any guff from the pigs.

Never far from her daddy, one of her favorite things to do is help daddy in the barn and with the pigs.

Her smile is so infectious!

We enjoyed being outside ALL day with Avery one day this week. Avery hasn't been able to be outside as much as we'd like with mommy being pregnant and the heat. We all took full advantage of the nice weather this week while daddy was off of work.

Our sweet little boy was enough to kill mama at 9lbs 8oz and 22.5in. He is a healthy boy! Named after some pretty wonderful people...Braylin (combination of Brandon & Grandma Linda) and Garin (combo of Grandpa Gary and Grandpa Darvin).

Avery had a great time playing in the bouncy castle. It took her a second to figure out what she was to do but she had a ball once she got the hang of it. Thanks for having us cousin Kale and Happy Birthday!!!!

Mommy's little "Dancing Queen" is busting her moves as she dances around the yard when the music was cranked up.

Kid loves to sing & dance....she has Hanson in her!!!

Daddy was gone to a piggy show for a couple of days....when he got home his little shadow didn't stray too far from his side.

A favorite at the Haselby's.....bonfires. Since we were letting Avery stay up late to do fireworks at our house daddy decided to bust out the marshmallows too.....

We enjoyed a Sunday around Avery's pool and she was in 7th heaven. Trying to give her lots of special time before baby brother gets here.

Enjoying the HOT sunshine to watch the boat parade.

Jack Sparrow made another appearance this year at the annual parade...

We headed to the party in the city park directly after the boat parade to let Avery run off some energy...

She only took 3 head first plunges off the slide before we decided it was time to move on before we ended up in the ER.

Avery enjoyed watching the skydivers parachute in after she was finally able to spot them.

Can't beat an afternoon of swimming at the Fulton's!!! Thanks Tom and Jen!!!!

Avery had fun at the cookout playing with everyone....even though there weren't a lot of kids there she still had a good time teasing everyone else....."sit down Tom...sit down!"

The fireworks were awesome this year and especially with how close we were to them. Only thing that would have made it better was if Aunt Ashley would have been there to watch them with Avery.

Avery loved the fireworks this year....every time there was a break in them Avery would yell "one more time!"

Avery went for her first 4 wheeler ride with Jennifer and now she is ready for Daddy to buy her one!

Avery had a great birthday week.....she loved all the mail and packages that she got in the mail.

A special package from Charlotte, NC. She was a tad bit excited to open Aunt Ashley & Uncle Pete's present.

Avery's birthday week began today with a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo. She just spotted the first animal exhibit.....

The seal is always a hit!

Petting the sharks was lots of fun too....

Avery got a kick out of the penguins....they are such active little things that she thought they were quite funny watching them eat then dive into the water.

The Polar Bear....quite possibly the meanest, deadliest animal on the planet.....

and she loved him!

Avery's 2010 favorite at the zoo....

Yeah, not this year! She was terrified of the walrus. She cried and for the next 20 minutes all we heard was "I scarwed".

We got to see an elephant getting a bath! She was so cute the way she laid down so the keepers could scrub her down.

Little butt got to pet the gentle giant.....just made her day since her animal of choice for the past couple of months has been elephants.

This child LOVES, LOVES, LOVES a carousel ride!

She hoots, hollers, giggles and squeals the entire time the ride is in motion.

The giraffe's are so neat and you can get so close to them!

And she just figured out the ride moved! Apparently we could have saved ourselves a drive and just went to opening day at Indiana Beach. This child loves anything that moves and a double bonus-this was a train!

She was into the dolphin show this year....she focused a lot more and really wanted to swim with them too. I am sure her Aunt Ashley would gladly share in that experience with Avery some day!

The Grizzly Bear....Avery's other favorite of the day. "All done!" Heading to the gift store where she got to pick out a stuffed animal of her choice from the day.....she chose a Polar Bear. Meet our new little guy, AJAX (also known as AJ and Jax). Our house just hasn't been the same since our unexpected loss of Tuff. Our hearts still ache for losing him so soon but believe he led us to our new little man. Where as Ajax will never be able to replace Tuff in hearts, it is the love we had for Tuff and as he had for us that made us want another of his kind.

Oh yes, just look at those paws! He is adjusting quite well in his new home. Getting along awesome with Avery and loves Marley and all the kitties. He is a very well behaved young man and we hope that continues!!!

Indy Weekend

You just can't beat Indy at Christmas time. We did a weekend away down in Indy and enjoyed getting caught up in the Christmas spirit. It was quite cold but we took Avery on her first carriage ride around downtown and we all loved it.

Avery was petting her new friend and possibly trying to talk Daddy into taking him home. :)

We all enjoyed our night away from home and Avery did awesome for her first stay in a hotel.

O' Christmas Tree

It appears Daddy's is more into the man in the red suit that Avery :) It is always fun to live through a child's eyes though.

Her face was PRICELESS every time she'd hear Santa's "HO HO HO-Merry Christmas".

Thanksgiving Break

Very into the beauty on Mamaw's Christmas tree. She was oh-so gentle checking out all the pretty ornaments....at MAMAW's! (not exactly so gentle at home)

We just can't get enough of this kid...

Laying under the Christmas tree while playing with all of the Winnie the Pooh stuffed animals, kept her entertained for hours.

Avery was able to spend the whole weekend with her Auntie Ashley and Uncle Pete since there were home from Charlotte for Thanksgiving. She soaked up as much time with them as she could on the extended weekend.

Avery got her pins removed and her cast off on Nov. 19th. She did awesome!!!!

Funny how she didn't bother going to the stairs once while in a cast but the minute we get home from the Riley minus the cast she heads straight to the stairway.

Avery was super excited to see her daddy this fall as we met him out in one of the fields for a ride-a-long.

She just spotted the BIG tractor she was going to be riding in...

Can't tell that she loves it, can you?

The new pilot takes control....it won't be long and she'll be out their running tractors for Grandpa, Alan & Robert.

Helping daddy with his afternoon snack....all part of the fun of riding in a Daily tractor :)

She was very interested in watching the big wheels and LOVED the end rows when we would turn around as it was very bumpy which made her squeal and giggle.

Daddy took her to see a huge rock at the edge of the field that was WAY bigger than she was.

Trick or Treat

Halloween 2010....such a cute little monkey with her "Tick o teat". Unfortunately-due to the recent hospital visit, Avery is scared to death of people now. Trick or treating didn't go so well on Saturday night but she was a bit better on Sunday with the family.

Snack time....it is hard work looking so cute and being given treats!

Avery managed to talk Grandma into giving her A LOT of candy. As Grandma would put a piece of candy in Avery's bag, our little monkey would say "Moooorrrreeee".

She sure loves her Grandma and Grandpa Daily and they are pretty fond of her as well :)

This monkey is done....til next year. Happy Halloween!!!
