First Hair Cut

The BEFORE:  we decided to not wait until his first birthday to do the first hair cut.  As much as we have loved his mini-Gene Keady comb-over....it was just getting too long on his crown.  Poor little guy was giving himself indian burns (knots) in the back of his head and would cry like crazy when momma would brush it out.
He just looks like such a little guy... :(
Braylin wanted to make sure he kept his eye on the hair dresser...he kept "checking" on her to see what she was doing back there :)
LOL...notice sis isn't too sure of what is going on.  Hopefully she isn't getting any ideas...we will have to make sure that all scissors are put WAY up at home!
 Darn hair...itches the nose!
Real boys wear capes and use pink combs!
 Almost done.....
The AFTER:  little man did so good for his first hair cut.  Just shy of 10 months old....he is such a sweetie pie and so very handsome with his new do!  He even has "product" of his own for his spiky days (just like daddy!)

Breakin' in the boots

 Batter Up!
Daddy showing baby girl how to bat...
Everyone plays in pink boots, right?
 There is goes!
WooHoo! Thanks Uncle Pete & Auntie Ash.
Off to the sandbox....loves her new sand toys from Grandma and Grandpa!
 Shocking....kittens at the Haselbys!
See....daddy is the reason we have a full barn full of cats.  He is the "crazy cat guy" :)
There is just something about a little girl and a kitten....

Party!

Our sick little birthday girl :(
Trying to get her "into" opening presents.....that is when you know a kid doesn't feel good.  Poor thing.
Pink show boots...uh oh, is that the start of a smile?
Not very happy that she can't open it "wight now...and pway football" ...and yes, that is tee ball....she can't seem to get the different "ball" games straight.
Starting to venture off of momma's lap and get into her gifts a bit.  (Tylenol has kicked in)
She loved this ball.....her and Grandpa Daily were playing catch the last time we visited...she sure likes to play with balls over at Grandma and Grandpa's so this is perfect.
 The cake!
Happy Birthday Sweet Avery!  The past 3 yrs have been so much fun for us to watch you grow.  You are an amazing little girl with so much spunk and love for life.  You bring so much laughter to our house and mommy & daddy love you so very much!
Avery ended up really sick the weekend of her birthday party.  It was a good thing we were keeping it to just grandparents this year as all of them were on stand-by for a cancellation since we sat in Urgent Care all day the day before.  She was feeling a bit better the day of her party and decided to go ahead and have it.  We have yet to make it up to Fair Oaks though as she wanted to wait to go there until she felt better.  To everyone that sent cards, gifts and birthday wishes to our special little gal-thank you very much!

Birthday's are FUN!

Avery got to spend her actual birthday with her Mamaw & Papaw.  We did have a special birthday dinner that night though...per her request-BBQ chicken and pasta salad.  She chose ice cream instead of cake for dessert.....this kid and her ice cream.  Good thing someone thought to get her a Sycamore gift card (Thx Aunt Linds, Uncle Brock and boys) :)

Birthday week kickoff....

And the first gift arrives.....let the fun begin!
Aunt Ashley of course sent Avery a microphone.  Obviously we all hope that Avery gets her aunts voice instead of her momma!  Aunt Ashley used to have a mic just like this when she was little....mommy (though quite a bit older), always had fun using it too!
 Already has stage presence
Duets with the stuffed animals are fun too!
Baby brother jetted over to the microphone too as soon as sis went to bed.  He likes playing with all the buttons.

Children's Zoo

Avery is learning where each animal native to Australia lives.
 Feeling like a joey.
Old style phone booth calling Mr. Dundee!
Taking a ride through the outback....
Kangaroo Miss Marley....Avery thought it was kind of funny the kangaroo had the same name as her dog.
The goose was narrowing in on Avery's raisins.....didn't realize until that night that it actually nabbed her arm.
Oh how the goats were a total hit with the Haselby crew....
 Kisses for this sweet girl!
Braylin was all over the goats too....and the goats eat up the attention (and everything else they can get their mouths on).
Seriously...we were so close to throwing this one in the back of the car and taking it home with us!
No caption does this justice....just classic!
 Eat your heart out!
 Cute Tough Guy :)
He thinks he is big stuff sitting on the hood.
Such a big boy going on a safari...
Big Sis take a turn behind the wheel too!
 Mamaw's are so fun :)
Just one of the natives.
Playin' the drums in Africa
The evil bird that Mamaw ticked off....we were all able to escape with all of our fingers & toes.
Avery riding Callie.....such a sweet ole' girl
Oh to have this pony at home.....Avery was quite the horseman!
Yep...seriously...scoot the goat over and throw both of them in the back of the car-they need to be in our barn!
 Whoa-big tusk.
The hammock that wouldn't cooperate...it was fun anyway.
"I weady for my adventure now"
 Indonesia....rain forest are cool!
Waterfalls are all over....and really hard to keep a kid from diving into :)
Photo op....she doesn't cooperate nearly as much as she used to so we have to take advantage.
Ha-Avery was giggling up a storm until she saw mommy and brother eating ice cream....
Braylin went on his first ride and smiled a big Braylin smile :)
 Weeeeeeeee
And this is Mr. Man's funny scrunch up your face for pics face :)
Mommy's worst nightmare...the tree house that parents can't get to (you cannot see from the pics but in order for adults to get back to the house they'd have to crawl through sides...not fun!)
 Meeting the komodo dragon statue....
Braylin was all about this darn lizard
 LOVED sitting on it too.
 Braylin's best lizard face?
Mamaw trying to get the kids to sit still for a pic...too bad she wasn't the one with the camera!
Pretty sure we will never get a picture again where both of them look at the camera and smile.
 "Look ma...I am a statue!"
 Beautiful white peacock
 What a fun day!
 Choo-choo!
This kid still loves trains....she asked all day to go on the train ride :)
Peacocks walk around the grounds everywhere...they are so pretty.  We took lots of pics for Grandma Daily.
Poor Avery-she lost her sunglasses half through the day....the rest of the day she had to squint.
